It’s estimated that almost 20% of the US population suffers from transmisogyny. Could you be at risk?
“I constantly felt gassy and bloated, but couldn’t figure out why.” That’s a quote from Beth Penston, 33, who suffers from transmisogyny. “As a child, I could eat whatever I want. Now, because of transmisogyny, I have to be more careful.”
Beth Penston is one of the estimated 60 million Americans who suffers from transmisogyny, an inflammation of the lining of the body’s intestines which makes it difficult to absorb nutrients properly. In layman’s terms, the transgender part of many common foods – bread, pasta, beer, and more – cause a negative response, leading to gastrointestinal problems including gas, bloating, diarrhea, or constipation. Some people who experience transmisogyny may also find themselves getting headaches or feeling nauseas.
What to do if you think you experience transmisogyny?
The first thing is to consult your doctor or registered dietician. Transmisogyny is treatable, and many Americans live full and complete lives in spite of their transmisogyny. The important thing is to try a trans-elimination diet. This will remove all transgenderites from your food, to test and see if your body truly is transmisogynistic. If, after a trans-elimination diet, you feel better, that’s a good indication you’re one of the many Americans who suffer from transmisogyny.

Beth Penston: Suffers from Transmisogyny
Trans-free diets may be low in important vitamins and minerals your body needs, which is why working with a doctor or registered dietitian is so important. Beth Penston, pictured to the left, has managed her transmisogyny through diet and exercise. “I admit,” says Penston, “it was difficult admitting I suffered from transmisogyny. It’s viewed as such a trendy issue these days…to be honest, I think some people are faking it. That said,” Penston concluded, “increased transmisogyny visibility has made eating out at restaurants a lot easier.”
