Name That Dyke: Revolutionary War Edition

Thomas Jefferson is a dykeThat’s right, Thomas Jefferson!

Many people know Thomas Jefferson (April 13 1743 – July 4, 1826) helped found the United States, was a main author of the Declaration of Independence, and was America’s third President. Fewer people remember he was a polymath, and his slave-owning ways are a topic of controversy to this day. But few people, outside the most die-hard Revolutionary War buffs, know that Thomas Jefferson was a huge dyke!

That’s right. When not raping his slaves, owning over 600 slaves, justifying his slave-holdings as benevolent, or defending slavery to the Continental Congress, Thomas Jefferson kept his nails clipped short, wore a saucy lesbian mullet, and played in an Indigo Girls cover band.
